The 203 is the classic Ercol Easy Chair, first launched in 1953 and manufactured until the early 1980’s. The 1956 catalogue describes it as an “easy chair with a deep seat and extra comfortable, fabric reinforced rubber suspension”. Made from beech and taking design cues from the spindle back and generous proportions from the historic Windsor Chair.
This example, from the 70’s, has been restored, hand finished with a light shellac and wax and has been fitted with new Pirelli webbing.
The new seat cushion is one of our 'Allsorts' designs, taking inspiration from the classic British confectionary, Liquorice Allsorts. We have used a duo of fine tweeds from Bute’s contemporary cocktail collection resulting in a smart reversible seat.
We also have a range of 'Allsorts' scatter cushions available to match.
Custom seat covers available on request, get in touch if you have any questions.
