Iconic, retro, stackable. The Polo chair was one of Robin Day's later iterations of the original moulded Polyside Chair, so ubiquitous with public institutions. Designed around a decade later, it was considered the world's first indoor/outdoor chair due to the large playful drainage holes and UV-resistant colours. The lower back rest also lent itself better for use as banks of stadium seating. The chairs were originally produced in emerald, yellow, black and white, with a variety of different metal leg options and finishes.
This original set of 6 were produced by Hille in 1984 with 4 leg white painted bases and have spent a good portion of their lifetime as outdoor chairs. We have lightly and sympathetically restored them, returning some of the original lustre to the green seats and stabilised the metal legs from further weathering.
