ANONYMOUS C-1915

£285.00

Charming hand crafted church chair, restored to a functioning state yet retains its intriguing asymmetry. The finish on this chair continues our investigation into the lure of lacquer and is finished with a deep black.

The chair exhibits examples of whittled and primitively turned parts and during restoration we discovered the initials G.W. stamped under the top rail of the seat back. Our imaginations run wild fabricating narratives when unearthing these fragments of information on the furniture with which we work.
